Fanworks List

Update, June 2013: Dudes, I am super lazy about updating this, and AO3 is way more navigable than this mess of a list. If you want to find fic on my journal, the tagging system should have your back (or leave a comment and I will help you find the fic!).

Since fanfiction and fanart are basically the only things I post, here's a list. I realize you could just go through my tags, but I hate doing that on other people's journals, so why should I make anyone else?

List, list, list. )

Spent yesterday at the Big One, which is an awesome fencing meet and one of my favorites of the year. This is because it's really low-pressure (i.e. all of the pressure is from my highly competitive nature and not from the coaches, so, actually, still really high-pressure, just not as much) and because it was my first fencing competition two years ago and is thus full of nostalgia.

It is also full of equipment problems, because it's everyone's first competition of the season. Yellow cards for broken shit abound, and the strip equipment is always a bit iffy. In my pool it turned out one of our reels was ungrounded, so that every time someone made a parry, the  person on the left got a touch. This meant we got delayed by five or ten minutes while people worked on the reel, tried to find another strip to move to, and so on. So I was talking to one of the other fencers in the pool who I share friends with.

Turns out she's going to study abroad in Wales next semester. In CARDIFF. And she's a huge fan of Torchwood and Doctor Who. Her plan is to get a big wool coat and then stand where the invisible elevator is supposed to be, looking hopeful. I suggested she stand on the tops of big buildings on windy days - she didn't think that was a very good idea. But then again, she hasn't seen Children of Earth (because of character death), so I don't know if I trust her judgment. Still. Wales! I will have to figure out fannish things to do when I go to Germany, I can't think of any now.

ANYWAY, the important thing is that then we started talking about Doctor Who, and then we fenced and I beat her, and I finished in the top 25 (out of 60-odd). But that's the less interesting part, so whatever.

Finally put this together - warning: very long. So long that I didn't edit it much. So, all you get is title, a short descriptor (may or may not describe), a characters list, and a link. Characters in parentheses are mentioned, but don't actually appear in the main story. The list for Suzi is all of my favorites (about 13 pages on word), including Old Who, NuWho, and Torchwood. Lisa's list only has NuWho and Torchwood (about 7 pages). Despite my writing and babbling proclivities, not everything here is Doctor/Master. Especially once you get out of NuWho. Due to the variety of pairings and genres, there's a lot of different things you could get if you click on a link. I haven't typed up ratings or anything, because this already took forever. There's a lot of gen, and a lot of NC-17. Check the headers if you're worried.

Obviously I don't expect you to read everything - this is a lot. Feel free to pick and choose, but let me know what you liked? And remember, you guys asked for this. Read out of your comfort zone! It's all good.

The formatting's a little screwy, but fixing it would take forever, and it's usable. There's also no order beyond what order I read things in. Sorry!

Oh, and I also have lists like this, though not as extensive, for almost every fandom ever. Feel free to ask for more, if you ever run out of things to do.

Torchwood fic, gosh, I wonder what this could be.

Rating: Gen, but maybe PG if you're being very careful
Pairing: Bridget Spears/John Frobisher but can be read as gen, I think.
Wordcount: about 900
Summary: Christmas at the Home Office doesn't have a lot of perks.
A/N: set during Voyage of the Damned, so slight spoilers for that. No actual spoilers for Children of Earth. Are we still warning for spoilers? I don't even know.

Bridget wouldn't mind it so much if she were wearing warmer clothing... )

Oh man, here is the end. General thoughts and my take on the series under the cut.

Aliens and GUNS and Torchwood )

Tl;dr: Spears/Frobisher forthcoming. I like CoE. A lot. How'd that happen?

Day Four

26/1/10 12:32 am

Back to watching Torchwood, since I'm more or less done with homework. Though my dreams of seeing the whole thing in a week were dashed, I'll probably finish it sometime this week.

I think I remember what was happening... )

So, that was pretty intense. Hoping it doesn't all fall apart.

Day Three

Watched Doctor Who all day today and have to go to class tomorrow- obviously time for another Torchwood reaction post. Might be able to watch the whole thing this week, yay.

WheeOoOo- wait, wrong show. )

tl;dr: writers increasingly share my predilection for the Home Office over the Torchwood team.

Another reactions post

Dramatic Music )
tl;dr: Still tightly paced, still watching it wrong.

What's this? I never post here. Well, I'm finally watching Torchwood series three, and I have Thoughts.

Cut for blabbering )

tl;dr: Plot is good, I still don't like Jack and Ianto, and I'm probably rooting for the wrong people. Again.
