So Far Exceeds Expression, 5/5
(alternate title: Covered in Blood)
Doctor Who, Classic Series AU
Rating: PG-13 as a whole
(this chapter: a last bit of violence, swearing, and kissing. Vague discussions of sex. Illness. Small children.
As a whole: violence, PG rated slash, femslash, and het. Small children.)
Pairings and characters (this chapter): Three/Delgado!Master, slight Three/War Chief and War Chief/Narvin, Zoe/Jenny (OFC/historical personage), Jamie/OFC. A couple historical personages.
Wordcount (this chapter): about 9,000
Total wordcount for the series: about 32,000
Summary: The end! In which the Doctor and the Colonel sort their lives out, sort of.
A/N: The final part of my odd, historical fiction reimagining of the War Games. Credit for some of the dialogue in this chapter goes to Colonel Thomas Blood. Huge, tremendous, enormous thanks to my beta, [livejournal.com profile] birdsarecalling, who helped me with the ending and also this whole entire thing. It's done! Done! Ahahahahaha! The End. Gosh. )

Final note: If you're interested, I wrote up a short thing about the history I played with in the story. It's here.

It has been pointed out to me by [livejournal.com profile] birdsarecalling  that misrepresenting historical characters is practically a Doctor Who tradition. However, I still feel vaguely guilty about it, the same way I often feel vaguely guilty after eating a delicious candy bar. To appease this feeling, here is some history.

Colonel Thomas Blood: Criminal Genius. Or Something. )

So Far Exceeds Expression, 4/5
(alternate title: Covered in Blood)
Doctor Who, Classic Series AU
Rating: PG-13 as a whole
(this chapter: more violence, swearing, and kissing.
As a whole: violence, PG rated slash, femslash, and het. Small children.)
Pairings and characters (this chapter): Two/AU!Master, slight Two/War Chief, Zoe/Jenny (OFC/historical personage), Jamie, Narvin, Arturo Villar, various historical personages.
Wordcount (this chapter): about 5,000
Summary: The Doctor and co are on the run. From everybody.
A/N: The penultimate part of my odd, historical fiction reimagining of the War Games. Credit for the plot to steal the Crown Jewels goes to Colonel Thomas Blood, as does credit for some of his dialogue in this chapter. Thanks again to my beta, [livejournal.com profile] birdsarecalling, who liked Narvin and reminded me about character development. Written for the best_enemies bigbang challenge.

So Far Exceeds Expression, 3/5
(alternate title: Covered in Blood)
Doctor Who, Classic Series AU
Rating: PG-13 as a whole
(this chapter: violence, swearing, more awkward innuendo, and girls kissing.
As a whole: violence, PG rated slash, femslash, and het. Small children.)
Pairings and characters (this chapter): Two/AU!Master, slight Two/War Chief, Zoe/Jenny (OFC/historical personage), Jamie, various historical personages, various characters from War Games.
Wordcount (this chapter): about 6,500
Summary: The Doctor encounters yet another old friend, and has to put up with his nefarious plans as well. Meanwhile, Koschei gets himself into a jam and has to figure out how to get out of it.
A/N: The halfway point in my odd, historical fiction reimagining of the War Games. Credit for the plot to steal the Crown Jewels goes to Colonel Thomas Blood, as does credit for some of his dialogue in this chapter. A few lines of dialogue are similarly from the War Games (written by Malcolm Hulke and Terrance Dicks). Thanks again to my beta, [livejournal.com profile] birdsarecalling, who approved my femslash and showed me where my sentences had gotten too confusing. So Far Exceeds Expression, 2/5
(alternate title: Covered in Blood)
Doctor Who, Classic Series AU
Rating: PG-13 as a whole
(this chapter: violence, mild swearing, lots of awkward innuendo.
As a whole: violence, PG rated slash, femslash, and het. Small children.)
Pairing and characters (this chapter): Two/AU!Master, Jamie, Zoe, various historical personages.
Wordcount (this chapter): about 5,500
Summary: The Doctor continues his adventures in 1671, while Koschei continues with his plot. Neither of these activities turn out quite as expected...
A/N: Another chapter of my odd, historical fiction reimagining of the War Games. Credit for the plot to steal the Crown Jewels goes to Colonel Thomas Blood. Thanks again to my beta, [livejournal.com profile] birdsarecalling, who helped me figure out even more fictional relationships and listened to my tl;dr about Restoration military. So Far Exceeds Expression, 1/5
(alternate title: Covered in Blood)
Doctor Who, Classic Series AU
Rating: PG-13 as a whole
(this chapter: not much. Kissing.
As a whole: violence, PG rated slash, femslash, and het. Small children.)
Pairing and characters (this chapter): Two/AU!Master, Jamie, Zoe, various historical personages.
Wordcount (this chapter): about 6,000
Summary: The Doctor lands in 1671, and meets an old friend. Unfortunately that old friend has a plan, and he's never been very good at them. Worse, the military is kind of... disappearing.
A/N: This is what might have happened if Two-era had had more historical episodes. Take the War Games, add my obsession with English history in general and the exploits of Colonel Thomas Blood in particular, and there you have it. Huge thanks to my beta, [livejournal.com profile] birdsarecalling, who picked out all my weird commas and my issues with fictional relationships. Written for the best_enemies bigbang challenge.
