Patrick Troughton - the best or, no, the only option is the best.

janeturenne did a post yesterday about how Patrick Troughton is secretly hot. Which is totally true, and I was going to write a comment in support of the trueness of this, when I realized it was getting a little long. And full of pictures. So I decided to throw out all of the weird over-sharing meta about seeing Two as an asexual vs a sexual Doctor and just do a picspam post about the hotness of Patrick Troughton.

Obviously I am making good decisions today.

So, I'm not making the case that Troughton wasn't pretty good-looking as the Doctor, because he kind of totally was.

I believe this is from The Enemy of the World, where Troughton plays the Doctor and also a megalomaniacal scientist with a questionable accent.


I am incredibly unhappy that I can't find larger versions of either of these. Especially the eyepatch pirate one.

This is apparently from Space 1999, which I've never seen, so I don't know why he has a sequin glued to his head. But I'm sure there's a good reason.

Okay, so I was pretty intrigued by your explanation for the Space: 1999 explanation, so I went and tracked down a synopsis of the episode in question. Turns out Troughton was playing the evil alien emperor of a federation of worlds. Coincidence? Or one of the lost regenerations between the War Chief and Delgado?

I say lost regeneration!

The War Chief's lust for Two caused him to regenerate into a Two clone. He tried bedazzling his face to distract from the resemblance, but it just didn't work. The whole debacle was horribly embarrassing for everyone involved.

Although 6B!Two might have had some fun with the idea of having silly roleplay sex with "himself".

Yeah, I... I guess if I can watch all the awful TV I normally watch, I can do Space: 1999. I was going to say we should just fake it, but then I realized the chances of posting an obscure crossover on the internet and not finding closet fans of the crossovered thing is basically nil.

My concern would be finding the show in the first place! Unless it's on netflix or something.

I guess we could say it's inspired by Space:1999, instead of a proper crossover?

It's not on instant for netflix or anything, but the whole series appears to be on youtube. The Dorcons is actually the last episode, but it's the only one relevant to the Troughton plot.

So, I went ahead and watched Space: 1999 with my brother last night. It... was an experience? I'm honestly not sure whether to warn you off or tell you to watch it asap.
