This is a very exciting post, about the very exciting remix someone did for me!
Also other things. But mostly this awesome remix.
It is Reduce, Reuse, Recycle (The Earth Day Remix) (Eleven/River/Yana, adult), which is a remix of Recycling (same). Somebody (and I'm dying to know who) took this ridiculous shallow fic with one of the cheapest punchlines ever, and remixed it into greatness. Thank you, anon. Thank you so much. Other people, you should def check this out!
Meanwhile, I am failing to read other remixes due to a sudden onset of 'oh, right, I actually have classes that I'm supposed to be doing reading for.' I will get it done, and then I will finish this anonmeme fic, yes, and then I will actually read the Doctor Who remixes. (I've read some in other fandoms, because for some reason this seemed like a good compromise to me.) And then, and then I will write this short story bumbling around my brain and submit it to the Machine of Death open submissions. Life plan!
I don't know, I've been really stressed lately for no good reason - worrying about senior year and grad school apps and stuff I don't have to deal with for another month at least. It's good to sit down and realize that, no, what I've got to do now is read, and write ridiculous things, and hey, I have fencing soon, probably should get my stuff together. Also I got an awesome remix, and I painted my nails black and white, and I went to the circus for free a couple days ago. My life is pretty great!

Date: 2011-05-08 06:56 pm (UTC)The punchline in the original, btw, was the best thing EVER. I just about died. I read several of your stories, obviously, to choose one and I loved them all - I couldn't leave reviews though because of the whole anonymity thing. If it's okay, I'm going to friend you!

Date: 2011-05-08 09:22 pm (UTC)I'm glad you liked my stories! I'm a huge fan of yours, and it was really exciting to get my assignment and realize I'd get to remix one of them.

Date: 2011-05-09 05:46 am (UTC)And thanks! I admit I've been so far out of the fandom loop I hadn't seen any of your stories (though I did see the Gallifreyan valentine and loved it!) but everything I read I really enjoyed. It even made me at least think about going back to the Gallifrey audios...I listened to the first two seasons a few years ago and never got around to the others.
(On "Recycling" btw, I LOVED the bit where you made it tie into what happens with the Master...I was super impressed by that. And your Eleven voice was AMAZING. Part of why I wrote River was because I did not want to compete with your Eleven voice!)

Date: 2011-05-09 07:19 pm (UTC)Aw, and thank you for the comments! I love writing Eleven, for some reason he's way easier than me than most of the Doctors. I loved your River, though - I don't think I've ever quite got a handle on her.
