2024 Yuletide Letter

Let me make this easy-ish: I'm probably going to be happy with whatever you're thinking of writing. In general terms, I really like happy fics, funny fics, and I always have a serious craving for fics where someone is mildly sick/injured, has screwed up, or is just stressed out and someone else helps them out. I will also read most things and love them, including dark fic, plotty fic, ship fic, and so on and so on. I will love your gen fic, and I will also love your smut - I do have some notes about pairings in my requests, but please don't take them as demands, just suggestions.
DNWs: I generally have to be careful reading things with horror (especially body horror), acute embarrassment, death as a major plot point (or philosophical discussion), incest, underage character/of age character, and rape/non-con. If it's something incidental, I can probably deal, but a fic focusing on any of these things would be more difficult for me to read. I know some of these things come up in the canons I requested, and I would be ok with something that discusses it at about the same level as canon does - just not in much more graphic detail.

Some Desperate Glory - Emily Tesh
Valkyr "Kyr" Marston, Cleo (Some Desperate Glory) (either or both characters)
Ship prompts:
Listen. I'm a simple person. I see two characters with a rivalry who hate each other and I think 'they should make out.' I'd love to see Kyr and Cleo smashing into each other either before the events of the book (maximum teenage angst), or after (Kyr is trying to be a better person and it's SO hard when Cleo is right there antagonizing her; Cleo is getting very frustrated with this new surface-level Kyr and is trying to scratch her open again).
It would also be great to see AUs for them - the concept of the Wisdom opens up so much space for AUs haha. Kyr and Cleo as co-managers of a coffee shop, seething at each other because SOMEONE reused coffee grounds and it was disgusting. (It was Lisabel but she's keeping quiet.)
Non-ship prompts:
Just in general, I'm fascinated by the level of ingrained trauma Kyr and Cleo have and how they'll be able to move and heal in the future. Fic focusing on either of them and how they move forward would be really lovely.
Cleo trying to cope with Kyr gone during the events of the book would ALSO be great.
The Queen's Thief - Megan Whalen Turner
Eugenides (Queen's Thief), Attolia | Irene (both characters)
I'm fully obsessed with Eugenides and Irene and the fact that she cut his hand off and they're in love and they just live that life every day. I can't handle it!! Would love to see anything just really rolling around in the mess of their relationship and how affectionate yet distant they can be with each other.
If you're interested in writing explicit fic, I would love to see fem-dom with them (or Irene on top). If you're more of a gen person, I don't need a super shippy fic - just something about how they navigate the court together would be great. I'm also super interested in AUs, and how on earth 'she cut off my hand and I sulked for months and we're in love' would translate into a modern AU or similar.
DNWs: For this fandom particularly, I'm totally cool with Irene and Eugenides having an open marriage but I really don't want cheating or break-up fic.
Running Close to the Wind - Alexandra Rowland
Avra Helvaci, Julian (Running Close to the Wind), Teveri az-Haffar (all characters)
Okay. This book got me. I love wet rat characters, divorce, and messy poly. I will love anything you do with this nightmare trio.
NSFW prompt:
I think the funniest possible outcome when Avra, Teveri, and Julian finally hook up is that. It's bad. Maybe Julian's out of practice, maybe it's Avra and Tev fucking it up, but it's not just mediocre, it's actively cringe-inducing. Julian is devastated. Avra and Tev shake it off because they're so used to having bad sex with each other lmao. I would take JUST the bad sex because this is fun for me, but it would also be fun to see Julian on a quest to figure out what exactly went wrong here.
SFW prompts:
- Julian navigating being the fun new partner but also wading through years of accumulated Avra and Tev bullshit
- Absurd AUs. I mean. Can you imagine a coffee shop run by Tev and their least favorite barista Avra who keeps stealing the aux cable. Julian keeps coming back for his coffee mostly out of morbid curiosity
- The three of them navigating cultural differences, especially small ones that seem like they don't matter at all until they suddenly REALLY do
