AKA that ridiculous Clint/Bruce/Natasha Avengers fic I have been working on all summer.

Travelogue
Avengers
Rating for all chapters: adult
(content notes, this chapter: largely off-screen violence.)
Characters: Clint/Bruce/Natasha, Tony Stark, Maria Hill, Nick Fury, Victor von Doom
Wordcount (total): 25,000 (this chapter): 3,800ish
Summary: Post-New York, Clint's still having trouble dealing with the whole Loki-controlling-his-brain situation, and Natasha seems to be avoiding him. Bruce Banner, meanwhile, just wants to get back to Kolkata.
A/N: I will admit that my Clint is pretty heavily influenced by 80s comics - possibly I should apologize for that. Also, I never found anyone to beta this, so concrit is especially appreciated.

My laptop has been repaired! It now has new hinges and a lot more plastic on the casing. May take pictures later, as it looks kind of cool, and I think it's a bit ingenious. Still want a new computer, though, as much as I like this one. One with actual battery life and a non-ridiculous memory setup.

Now that I have private and unfettered access to the internet again, I have a lot to catch up on. I have written approx 27,000 words of fic in my absence. I have drawn things. My fencing tumblr queue is probably almost depleted. I have not checked tumblr in weeks! This maybe why I actually got things done, hm. But for now, I give you this:
cut for a picture just in case, but you should click this cut, seriously )

Okay, tomorrow I am going to try to do a de-anon I was planning before the whole laptop fiasco. I am so excited for fic posts, like actually.

It has been a week and my computer is almost fixed but not actually. I am waiting on hinges, and then apparently the IT people are going to have me and my dad actually glue everything back together, because some of the modifications we have made to the outer casing of my laptop are sensible but not intuitive. So I'm very occasionally on my mom's laptop for now, with access to my laptop's hard drive (hurrah!), but not enough confidence in my cache/history deleting skills to log into my fandom spaces much (boo). This means I have been reading LJ on my phone and tumbling not at all, though tumblr probably hasn't noticed my absence.

For some reason I am totally okay with writing fanfic on my mom's laptop, though, which is good because I am very close to done with this Bruce/Clint/Natasha Avengers fic. I had originally planned on 5k words of character studies, which became 10k words of plot and Clint Barton feelings, which has developed into a 20k ship manifesto for superspies and scientists with issues. I'm not sure what happened here, but I'm projecting 25,000 words and I'm pretty sure none of it makes sense at all. (This is all code for: I would really like a beta if anyone wants to volunteer, because I can only gear myself up to betahunt in new fandoms once a year and I have already used it up on BBC Sherlock. I would be very grateful and also very patient, because I know this is kind of. A lot.)

What else has happened? I have been reading books at my old pace, i.e. one every other day or so. I finally read the new Garrett PI and Discworld novels, which had been backburnered because of school. I have been attempting to find housing for the fall, but haven't had much luck yet. Will keep trying, because I value shelter. And we had a garage sale, which went pretty okay but unfortunately involved revealing my location to a bunch of strangers (which I am normally fine with, but for some reason caused a lot of anxiety in this case). But they were strangers who gave me money for things we didn't need, which was the important part.

And that is all! Hopefully my next post will come sooner rather than later, and will be typed up on my own laptop (fingers crossed).

I've kind of fallen face first into comics fandom over the last week. I mean, it was coming over the last couple months, especially leading up to The Avengers, but now I have opinions about other people's fanfic and am rediscovering all of my feelings about Doctor Doom. I've seen Avengers twice, which I think makes it the first time I've ever gone to theaters for a movie more than once. I keep making plans to watch some more of the new Avengers cartoon, since I only ever got two episodes in (and I hear Doom is in the second season). I'm 7,000 words into a Clint Barton/Natasha Romanov/Bruce Banner fic that no one will want to read. (And I figured, if no one's going to read it, what's wrong with throwing in a Doom cameo? This is the most self-indulgent semi-serious fic I've written in quite a while. Also I think I may have forgotten how to write reasonably short things.)

IDK where these feelings are coming from, because I haven't regularly bought comics in three years. I used to be really into them, but no money and no time is not good for keeping up with anything that's released monthly (or weekly!) and costs $3-$4 each. I'm still not super interested in building up my reading list again, but I'm pretty sure that's only because Gail Simone is writing Batgirl atm rather than something I'd be more interested in. If she was still writing Secret Six, I would probably be buried in DC feelings now as well as Marvel ones.

The point of this is, this is a bad time to be weeding my comic book collection. Which I'm supposed to be doing this summer, so that I don't have to store or haul nine fileboxes of comics that I don't necessarily want. I've been pretty good about being non-sentimental about most of the stuff in my room - yu-gi-oh cards, neopets plushies and my old stereo system are all ready for a garage sale, though I've chickened out on my pokemon cards. But I don't know how many of my comics I could part with at this point. Or, rather, I could almost definitely get rid of the boring/badly written ones, but not without rereading them first.

I should probably get started then, because this is going to take forever.

In amongst all of this graduation ridiculousness, I did finally manage to see Avengers. No spoilers here, but I am now drowning in Bruce Banner feels (which I've had for years, but my own anger management issues this year plus his presence in Avengers have ratcheted up the level of 'ahhhh, Bruce Bannnnner' to a previously unforeseen amount). Also writing fic. Messy emotional fic that I will probably need to edit to death later, but whatever. I'm going to have to see if any of the Hulk comics I have at home are reasonably okay, I can't remember. And if anyone does Marvel and has Hulk arc recs, I would be super grateful.
