Yuletide reveals!

This year I wrote 11 fics in either 9 or 10 fandoms, depending on how we count things. My main fic:
The Captain and the Shore (12385 words) for sophia_sol
Fandom: Suradanna and the Sea - Rebecca Fraimow
Rating: General Audiences
Relationships: The Captain/Suradanna
Summary:
It takes a few decades to really get to know a person. Especially when they keep changing; especially when they're unsure of themselves.
Can I take a moment to recommend Suradanna and the Sea to you? It's free online, and a really lovely novella about two immortal women who orbit around each other while spending centuries doing their own things and taking care of their own business. It's refreshingly free of mortality angst, so of course I had to get my grubby little mortality-obsessed fingers all over it.
I was sophia_sol's Yuletide writer back in 2011 too, and getting assigned to them again felt like getting away with the perfect crime :) Really glad that we still have the same taste in niche fandoms!
Reflections (517 words) for prodigy
Fandom: Lackadaisy
Rating: General Audiences
Relationships: Mordecai Heller & Mitzi May
Summary:
Fashionable people, doing fashionable things.
Every couple years I have to write a Lackadaisy fic in order to demonstrate that I still don't really understand Lackadaisy. (But I love the comic, so I have to keep trying.)
Pack Dynamics (493 words) for cjmarlowe
Fandom: What We Do in the Shadows (2014)
Rating: General Audiences
Characters: Anton, Stu
Summary:
"I mean, I'm the alpha," said Anton. "That means I'm the leader, right?"
I love Taika Waititi and I love this movie. This is everything I want from the werewolf movie sequel.
Repeat After Me (463 words) for Seiya234
Fandom: Matthew Swift Series - Kate Griffin
Rating: General Audiences
Characters: Matthew Swift, Sharon Li
Summary:
Sharon gives Matthew some tips on non-violent problem solving.
This fic is to atone for the three (three!) extremely long Matthew Swift wips that have been languishing in my documents folder for half a decade.
Diplomatic Overtures (268 words) for Beth Winter
Fandom: Imperial Radch Series - Ann Leckie
Rating: General Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: Justice of Toren One Esk Nineteen | Breq & Seivarden Vendaai
Summary:
Breq isn't having any fun at the Conclave.
I'm not 100% sure if this is in character, but I sure had fun writing it.
Personal Space (1017 words) for akitania
Fandom: Provenance - Ann Leckie
Rating: General Audiences
Relationships: Garal Ket | Pahlad Budrakim/Tic Uisine
Summary:
Tic leaves a bubble of space around Garal. Garal wonders if e should be offended.
I really loved Provenance (Ann Leckie's new standalone book, in the same universe as Imperial Radch). I also relish any chance to write people being very nice to non-binary people with touch sensitivity, and the canon lends itself to this particular wish-fulfillment really really easily.
The Revelations of Horst Cabal (1297 words) for janie_tangerine
Fandom: Johannes Cabal - Jonathan L. Howard
Rating: General Audiences
Relationships: Horst Cabal & Johannes Cabal
Summary:
Now that he's properly alive again, Horst has his priorities in order.
Never pass up an opportunity to write the Cabals being the worst at siblings. (Partially written/rewritten while reading the best bits to my brother. Thanks, dude.)
Increase Your Circulation (1429 words) for JackOfNone
Fandom: Johannes Cabal - Jonathan L. Howard
Rating: Explicit
Relationships: Miss Smith/Zarenyia
Summary: Miss Smith summons Zarenyia to help with an intimate problem. A very intimate problem.
(Zarenyia coaches Miss Smith to orgasm. That's it, that's the fic.)
Aaaand I also wrote some femslash porn for my favorite rarepair. Happy yuletide to me, honestly.
The Literary Canon (1062 words) for formerlydf
Fandom: Dream Daddy: A Dad Dating Simulator
Rating: General Audiences
Characters: Lucien Bloodmarch, Ernest Vega, Hugo Vega
Summary:
Ernest and Lucien reenact the classics, despite Hugo's protests.
This summer at the state fair, bessyboo and I walked around yelling about Dream Daddy, and I made a vague commitment to try and write something about Ernest and Lucien's long and death-defying history of literary reenactment. Six months later, I made good! I know, I'm surprised too.
Shining Armor (2108 words) for The_Plaid_Slytherin
Fandom: Nero Wolfe - Rex Stout
Rating: Teen And Up Audiences
Relationships: Archie Goodwin/Saul Panzer
Summary:
It's very rare that a dope like me gets an opportunity to rescue a stand-up guy like Saul Panzer.
Saul gets drugged with something nasty while on a case. Fortunately Archie's ready to save the day.
This is sort of a sex pollen fic, because The_Plaid_Slytherin is a genius and requested fanfic tropes in the Nero Wolfe universe. Saul/Archie is one of my bulletproof ships and there's very little fic for it, so I'm glad I was able to contribute :)
Mind How You Go (512 words) for originally
Fandom: Rivers of London - Ben Aaronovitch
Rating: General Audiences
Characters: Jaget Kumar
Summary:
There's a woman at Finchley Road. Jaget passes through the station most days, changing lines on his way home. The woman's not always there, but he sees her more often than not.
I haven't had time to read the new Rivers of London novella featuring Kumar, so this is me psyching myself up for it. I always have fun with the RoL approach to magic.
I also haven't had ANY time to dive into the Yuletide archive this year (because...I've been reading too much Transformers fic...), so no recs this time but maybe some in the future. Hope it was a good one for everyone!
