Intro Post

There are new people on my f-list! Hello f-list, I have been reading your entries on my phone and not commenting because it is difficult to do on my phone. The last two days have been mostly real life stuff and not getting to use my laptop, alas. But since I'm not being productive right now and I'm too tired to edit fic, I figured I'd do a quick intro post.
This is me:
[photo since redacted, but it was me and LeVar Burton chillin]
I am the person who is not LeVar Burton.
Admittedly, that is me from a year ago, but I look pretty much the same and recent photos are sadly bereft of LeVar Burton.
ANYWAY, I'm currently in my first year of graduate school, working on getting my PhD in Political Science! I'm living in Minneapolis with my cat, and at the moment I spend most of my time working on class stuff or doing fencing things.
Moving backwards, I went to undergrad in Boston, and I triple-majored in German, Political Science, and Psychology. Before that, I grew up doing renaissance faires (which I still do - mostly during the summer now). My sense of 'where I'm from' is kind of all over the place.
I used to do a lot of martial arts, but fencing has taken over my athletic time. I fenced sabre for my varsity team for four years, and now I'm on a club team at my new school. I also maintain a fencing tumblr that's basically just photos of fencing. I'm always ready to talk to people about fencing, it's an awesome sport. Other things I am always up for talking about: history, especially Elizabethan England; bandsthat I know or that I've never heard of; the joys of human experimentation; idk about the rest of this list, I generally enjoy talking to people about lots of things.
Fandoms! I feel like I've given my list of fandoms on that friending meme and elsewhere, so this is just a general note: I used to be entirely and only into Doctor Who, but I've since become serially multi-fannish. My current pattern is to get really into some fandom/some pairing/some character, write one (usually long) fic, and then disappear into the night. I apologize in advance. Although, even if I haven't been active in a given fandom for a while, my feelings are only dormant - it's not like I've moved on or whatever.
Okay, last things - I currently identify as asexual (and aromantic), and here's a recent post I made about pronouns, sorry if it's a bit confusing (I am confused about pronouns).
Aaaand I spent too long on this, and I have class in the morning. Hope this is coherent, and hi again to new people :) And everyone else! I'm glad you're here.
