hurrah! *enables*

amadeus is a great film - much better (probably) than by the sword. it's about trying to be the best. f murray abraham's character just wants to be an awesome composer, and then mozart shows up and is so much better than him, but salleri (f murray) is the only one who sees it, and he dedicates his life to destroying mozart while being totally in love with his music. it's a brilliant film, which won multiple oscars, one of which was for the star of 'by the sword' - who was up against the guy who played mozart, who was really good. in short f murray abraham is really really good at acting, and so whenever i see something else that he's been in i have to laugh for about 10 minutes straight, because whatever it is (i.e. muppets in space) is usually so bad that it would be embarrassing for eric roberts...

and yes! re meanwhile. (funny you should ask - it's not like i am dropping hints. well, not on purpose, but i like to talk about the writing so i guess you have to hear about it). i am about 6,000 words into the second chapter, and i wasn't necessarily thinking about it when i asked whether you would be offended by bad fencing, but i am pleased nonetheless that you wouldn't be particularly.

i also think 'fencing' is one of the reasons that doctor/master is a better pairing than all the others. (it would have really perked up end of time). why did king's demons get voted off so early? not only is it good(ish), it's so much shorter than sea devils... ho hum. anyway.

sherlock, sherlock, sherlock. stupid!watson is looking for clues as to how this comment relates to your fic. thus far he has found a jar of jam.
