the other guy is f murray abraham! aka sallari aka, the oscar winning f murray abraham (i used to have an icon of him, but i guess i've got rid of it). i watched the trailer for by the sword, btw, and it looked a-MAZING. erin is trying to find it free online - will let you know if she manages to find it, otherwise it's £5 for a hard copy and even if i don't think that i do at the moment, i do think that is too much really...

on the other hand a) i would watch and base my characterisation of roberts!master forever on that film b) i would read the crap out of the AU you suggest. and probably would be writing it right now if i wasn't already writing a ridiculous long AU in which roberts!master was a fencer.... and if i knew anything about fencing, which i don't if it wasn't in the three musketeers. although, obviously this links back in with the (sorry, but i think we all know by the sword is now the focus of this conversation) far less important point of whether you should write about what you know or not. and i do feel a bit shamed by your answer, but at the same time i think if you're actively seeking out fencing fics you want the fencing to be an important part, rather than just a setting. also i am the terrible smug sort of person who reads a fic that gets a tiny insignificent detail of canon wrong and thinks 'what an idiot' even though i write loads of fic like that in the early days of writing, and must still be doing it because i only found out this morning that vansell, vansell was a member of the deca. wft? vansell???

anyway - write some roberts!master fic!

or whatever my point was.

more fencing!
