A wonderful Yuletide!
31/12/18 06:18 pmTomorrow I'll post all my reveals, but right now I need to talk about the AMAZING gift I received!
The Realms of the Immortals
Fandom: Tortall/Immortals Quartet
Rating: Teen
Relationships: Rikash/Daine
Wordcount: 56,883
Summary: "Rikash knew he was signing up for a lot when he became Lord of the Stone Tree Stormwing nation.
But joining forces with the extremely dangerous, mysterious, and oddly intriguing Veralidaine Sarrasri, the famous Stormwing Killer, on a road trip through the Divine Realms to assassinate those immortals stupid enough to risk the destruction of the world by working with Chaos?
That's - unexpected."
For Yuletide this year I received a novella! A novella. A NOVELLA. Do you see that wordcount? This is the ageswap Rikash/Daine book that Tamora Pierce never wrote for me. It's got a great plot, an amazing ensemble, and lots and lots of awkward romantic glances between a young fear-eating vulture monster and a maturing demigod who is starting to realize that non-humans are people too. The author gives a great depiction of Stormwing society from the inside (the whole thing is Rikash pov), while also presenting a sympathetic Daine who makes mistakes but is still open to correcting them. Also, it's a murder roadtrip. I love murder roadtrips. Highly, highly recommended.
