That Doctor, always bringing his companions to Gallifrey and then leaving them around the place, expecting them to be looked after. He's done it, what, 3-ish times? (I'm never sure if Ace counts, but she should, because that is one of my favorite post-series lives for her.)

I'm pretty sure Romana just weighed the possibility of Brax doing something really evil against the possibility of her getting more snot on her hands while she tried to think of someone else. The choice was obvious.
