This story deals with the off-screen physical and sexual abuse of Pharma (an unwilling prisoner) by Tarn (his captor). It also involves unhealthy and codependent relationship dynamics, on-screen sexual abuse in the context of a romantic relationship, and graphic depictions of violence including character death.
Rung's previously romantic relationship with Megatron has largely faded away due to the escalating brutality of the war. After Rung learns of Tarn's physical abuse of Pharma and has Pharma transferred to his custody, Megatron rekindles their romance. At first Rung welcomes this, but he gradually grows more uncomfortable and eventually rejects Megatron entirely. Megatron reacts by forcing Rung into sex in an attempt to also force Rung to love him again.
Meanwhile, Pharma has gradually grown closer to Rung, relying on Rung for protection and support. Rung learns that Pharma has been manipulated in the past by Tarn to give the appearance of willing consent in order to 'apologize' for perceived mistakes, and at first rejects Pharma's sexual advances when Pharma tries to use them to make up for a lapse in composure. Later, Pharma becomes romantically interested in Rung, and draws parallels between his experiences with Tarn and Rung's experiences with Megatron. When Pharma witnesses Megatron assaulting Rung, he uses a scalpel to stab Megatron and kills him. Rung sees Pharma preparing to do this and distracts Megatron, but ultimately has mixed feelings about Megatron's death both as the justified killing of someone who attacked him and the tragic loss of someone who he used to love. Afterward, Rung and Pharma are discovered by Deadlock, and Rung reveals his sexual assault in order to explain that Megatron was killed in self-defense.
