hello hello

Happy Friday! It is the first day of my spring break, in which I plan to write papers and go to concerts and write fic. It'll be great.

I haven't felt like I have much energy to post or be a person on the internet lately, so I thought that maybe during spring break I'd try to make a post a day, just to get myself going. Rather than sit around and think to myself about how much I love Elementary/am perpetually frustrated about fencing/am disgusted with the weather, y'all can hear about it instead. Or not. Just keep scrolling if I talk about the weather, actually, because today is just generally gross outside.

[community profile] unconventionalcourtship has started! If you are not aware, it is a panfandom ficathon based on romance novel summaries. My fic is due April 13th, and I've pretty much decided to write Holmes/Bell with whatever summary seems like a good idea at the time. I might try to get a short Doctor/Master fic together also, just because I miss writing them. Currently, however, I'm looking at Harlequin summaries, and oh man, I can't deal with them. I feel like I've read all of these fics. Or I need to write all of these fics. Like, I am not using this particular summary, but it starts with:

Banished by his mother’s vampire clan a century ago after a liaison with the clan leader’s pureblood daughter, half-wolf, half-vampire Indigo Mercier has made a new life for himself as part of the Draicon wolf pack.

It's beautiful.

Anyway, I'm pleading off most of my work for the afternoon/evening to try and find the perfect summary. Wish me luck!

ETA: just found a series of vampire cowboy novels, everything is awesome.

the vampire/werewolf thing is amazing - not only in idea but also in phrasing. i just don't think i'm unironic enough to ever be able to write such a thing myself... alas, alas indeed.

but anyway! certainly when i first set up [community profile] unconventionalcourtship we just spent an evening sitting around reading them out with the names changed for fandom people and laughing.

would be excited for some doctor/master also! and i too miss writing that. i guess i could always write some more for the fest, but this is not a good time, really. (who set up this stupid fest at this time? honestly).

p.s. looking forward to some posts!
