Aha, I'm glad you picked up on the muttonchop/fu manchu combination, because the image has been haunting me ever since I typed that out.

If someone takes Narvin/War Chief and runs with it, I will be SO EXCITED. I don't think I can contemplate it anymore, unfortunately, lest it drive me further into madness.

I've only read a couple of Sabatini's short stories, but they're amazing! Apparently, however, the character is based on quite a few actual people. Blood got the name, though, probably because it is an awesome name.
